"A Cinderella Story"

A woman in Worcester, 35, is being charged for assault and battery of a teen girl, 16. Mara L. Escobar, was arrested on Nov. 14 and charged with assault and battery on a child and an assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and lastly two counts of rape of a child. The 16 year old girl was living with Escobar for 5 years in a small desolate room. In her room is only a bed and a small dresser while her other blood daughters have all the electronics that any normal teen would want. The Worcester police call this a "Cinderella teen" because she was being treated as a maid. She would clean and do everything for Escobar with no reward except being abused. Escobar is being held in jail with a cash bail of $25,000.

I think this woman most definitely deserves to be held in prison. No child or teen should be treated as a slave to anyone. I think its morally wrong to take a teen and make them work and then brutally harass them in the meantime. What I would like to know though is if the girl had any way of getting out of the house? Why didn't she tell anyone about the abuse and rape? The only thing I could think of is that she was scared. However, either way there is really no excuse for rape and abuse on a 16 year old girl, or on any girl for that matter. Escobar deserves jail time and if it were up to me she would stay in jail for life.
